Islamic Banking Conference 2024 begins tomorrow

Muscat: The activities of the Islamic Banking Conference 2024 will begin tomorrow, Monday, under the slogan “Islamic Financial Transactions and Economic Stability”, under the patronage of His Excellency Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority.

The meeting aims to evaluate the Islamic banking experience in the Sultanate of Oman in light of the overall indicators of the national economy, link the sector’s targets and performance indicators to the national priorities and strategic directions of the future vision “Oman 2040”, review the factors of monetary stability in light of current Islamic banking services, and the role of Islamic banks in achieving deposit stability.

The meeting includes many working papers and discussion sessions on Islamic financial transactions in the Sultanate of Oman, and the Sharia standards of the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI).

During the meeting, the winners of the first edition of the Islamic Finance Excellence Awards (Themar) will be announced, which includes 8 main categories: Best Islamic Bank, Best Islamic Banking Window, Best Sharia-Compliant Investment, Best Takaful Finance and Insurance Companies, Best Islamic Banking Personality (CEO/GM), Digital Transformation, Sustainability, and Start-up Companies.
