Ahmedabad: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) is currently participating in the Global Professional Accountants Convention 2023 (GloPAC), held in Ahmedabad in the Republic of India.
More than 300 speakers and a group of financial institutions, leaders and experts from all countries of the world participate, discusses issues related to accounting, auditing and future trends related to the financial sector.
Dr. Abdullah bin Masoud Al Harithi, member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chairman of the Supervisory Committee of the Omani CFO Program, said that participation in this conference comes to enable the Omani private sector to keep pace with the innovative requirements of the accounting profession and maximize its role in creating value from a more comprehensive perspective than traditional financial and accounting measures.
He added that the Chamber worked to organize the “Omani Financial Manager” program in cooperation with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in the Republic of India, which organized this conference to enable Omani national cadres to possess financial analysis skills and extrapolate the future situation, with a focus on the role played by the financial manager in business governance.
Dr. Siham bint Ahmed Al Harthiya, a member of the Board of Directors of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a member of the Supervisory Committee of the Omani CFO Program, confirmed that the Chamber is keen to strengthen the business sector in the Sultanate of Oman by qualifying national cadres who possess skills and capabilities in the field of financial accounting, noting that the development of accounting and management Finance in the private sector is of great importance in empowering the sectors relied upon in Oman Vision 2040.
The conference included the presentation of a working paper on the advantages and investment opportunities in the Sultanate of Oman, which dealt with investment laws, advantages, incentives, the most important components and targeted sectors in the Sultanate of Oman.
