Oman Airport sees passenger traffic drop by 26.5%

Muscat (ONA): The total number of passengers traveling through airports in the Sultanate of Oman (Muscat, Salalah, Sohar and Duqm) till the end of September 2021 reached 2,870,810, compared to 3,908,289 passengers as of the end of September 2020, comprising a decline by 26.5%

The total number of flights at the airports of the Sultanate of Oman reached 26,636 flights until the end of September 2021, including 18,604 International flights through Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Sohar Airport and 8,032 domestic flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Duqm Airport, compared to 32,693 flights in September 2020, including 28,455 international flights at Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport and Sohar Airport and 42,238 domestic flights and Muscat International Airport, Salalah Airport, Sohar Airport and Duqm Airport by the end of September 2020.

Nationalities of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan topped the total number of passengers in Oman’s airports till the end of September 2021. The number of Indian passengers stood at 82,162 (arrivals 48,519, departures 33,643). Bangladeshi passengers stood at 33,685 (arrivals 20,086, departures 13,599). Meanwhile, the Pakistani passengers stood at 26,627 (arrivals 17,437, departures 9,190).
