Tarek Sektioui Named Oman Head Coach After Queiroz Departure

Morocco’s Sektioui Takes Charge of Oman National Football Team

Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) has announced the appointment of Moroccan coach Tarek Sektioui as the new head coach of the Oman national football team, succeeding Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz.

The OFA confirmed the appointment, noting that Sektioui will lead the national team خلال the المقبلة phase.

Sektioui brings recent coaching success, having led Morocco’s Olympic team and guided the side to victory in the 2025 Arab Cup in Qatar.

This marks his first role as head coach of a senior national team outside Morocco.

As a player, Sektioui represented Morocco at the 2008 Africa Cup of Nations and had a professional career with clubs in Portugal, the Netherlands, France and the UAE.

He began his coaching career in 2013, including spells with Maghreb de Fès, where he won the Moroccan Throne Cup in 2016, and RS Berkane, leading them to the CAF Confederation Cup title in the 2019–2020 season.
