Oman’s Financial Services Authority Obtains ISO 9001 Certification

Muscat: The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has obtained the ISO 9001 certification for its Quality Management System, marking an institutional achievement that reflects the Authority’s commitment to adopting best administrative practices, enhancing performance efficiency and fostering a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

The certification supports the development of the institutional work environment and the improvement of services provided to workers and clients in Oman’s non-banking financial sector, including the capital market, insurance, and accounting and auditing professions.

The certificate was received by Abdullah Salim Al Salmi, Executive President of the Financial Services Authority.

The achievement follows sustained efforts and integrated institutional work involving various sectors and units of the Authority throughout the implementation of the quality management system.

These efforts included developing procedures and operations, improving performance efficiency and fulfilling approved international requirements and standards, culminating in the Authority’s successful attainment of the certification.

The Authority said obtaining the ISO 9001 certificate represents an important milestone in its pursuit of institutional excellence and reflects its commitment to adopting effective administrative methodologies that improve performance quality, streamline operations and enhance work efficiency in line with its strategic objectives and future aspirations.

It noted that the achievement was made possible through cooperation and integration among its various sectors and units, supported by a unified team effort that contributed to successfully implementing the quality management system and meeting its requirements.

The Authority also highlighted the contributions of its employees throughout the different stages of the project.

The FSA reaffirmed its commitment to continued development and improvement and to strengthening a culture of quality in the workplace, with the aim of consolidating institutional excellence and achieving higher levels of efficiency and effectiveness in carrying out its regulatory and supervisory responsibilities.
