Singapore: Oman’s national youth football team will begin tomorrow its journey in the Asian qualifiers for the under-17 years for the final of the 2025 Saudi AFC Asian Cup, by facing the Singapore team, the host of Group 10. The Tajikistan team will also play against the Guam team for the same group.
The technical staff of our national youth team, led by coach Anwar Al Habsi, realizes the importance of the first match in the Asian qualifiers, especially since a positive result is considered the key to going far and getting closer to seizing the direct qualification card from the group, which is what the technical staff has been working on during the past days in terms of good preparation and getting the team ready to enter the atmosphere of the Asian competitions.
The junior team held its last training session today at the Geylang Training Stadium. The training sessions reflected the team’s physical and technical readiness, and the players’ morale was very high in order to present distinguished matches and achieve the dream of qualifying for the Asian finals.
The training sessions began with warm-up exercises by running on the field, then continuing with ball training in narrow spaces. After that, the technical staff conducted tactical exercises in terms of correct positioning and rapid deployment with the application of intensive offensive transitions. The training session concluded with a mini-division to stand on the application of the drawn tactical sentences.
The coach of our national youth football team, Anwar bin Abdullah Al Habsi, said: The team is ready to play the match, and all teams are looking for a qualification card from Group 10, which is a legitimate right, and this is what we are looking for for sure.
He pointed out that the team is determined to snatch the first card from the group and advance to the Asian finals, explaining that the opening match is always the most important in the qualifying journey, and God willing, the team will achieve a positive result that will give it an advantage in the other matches.
