Muscat: The Schools Football League for boys, organized by the Oman School Sports Association, continues at the Police Stadium in Muscat, with participation from 168 students born in 2013 and later.
The tournament, running from 29 March to 2 April 2026, brings together teams representing various educational directorates and private schools.
The league aims to promote sports as a daily activity among students, encourage participation in competitions and strengthen links between schools and the local community.
It also focuses on team-based activities that support educational values, positive behavior and national identity, while helping students develop skills, creativity and sportsmanship.
The initiative further highlights the importance of effective use of leisure time and seeks to build partnerships with relevant institutions to identify and support young sporting talent.
Group stage matches conclude this evening with four fixtures in the third round. أبرز encounters include Sheikh Abu Qahtan Al Hajari School from South Al Batinah facing Al Qa’qa’ bin Amr Al Tamimi School from South A’Sharqiyah to determine the top team in Group A, after both sides secured qualification for the quarterfinals.
In Group B, Ali bin Abi Talib School from North Al Batinah will meet Al Fadl bin Al Hawari School from A’Dakhiliyah to decide the group leader. Al Baleed School from Dhofar will play against Abu Ayoub Al Hadrami School from Muscat, while Al Khayrat School from North A’Sharqiyah aims to secure qualification to the next stage.
Quarterfinal matches are scheduled for tomorrow, followed by the semi-finals on Thursday morning. The tournament will conclude later that day at 5:30 PM under the auspices of Dr. Intisar Abdullah Ambousaidi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education for Educational Support Programmes.
