Omani FM Meets David Lammy in London to Bolster Oman-UK Partnership

Oman and UK Strengthen Bilateral Ties Through Continued Cooperation

London: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, today met with David Lammy, British Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, at the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in London.

The meeting discussed the course of historical relations and the existing strategic partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the United Kingdom, where the two ministers expressed their keenness to support and follow up on paths of cooperation in various fields of mutual benefit and to emphasize the role of the Omani-British Strategic Consultation Team. On the political level, the two sides exchanged views and consulted on a number of regional and international issues and expressed the importance of strengthening diplomacy, dialogue and international cooperation in facing current challenges, in order to achieve security and stability for all.

They also stressed the need for joint action to resolve crises and promote peace and sustainable development through multilateral frameworks and effective partnerships.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Ambassador Badr bin Mohammed Al Mandhari, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the United Kingdom, Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Lianne Saunders, British Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, and a number of officials from both sides.
