Oman’s Foreign Minister meets Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council in New York

New York: Sayyid Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met today with His Excellency Dr. Rashad Muhammad al-Alimi, Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council of the Republic of Yemen, at the United Nations headquarters in New York, on the sidelines of the meetings of the seventy-eighth session of the United Nations General Assembly.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed developments and efforts related to enabling and sustaining the truce in the sisterly Republic of Yemen, as well as supporting the efforts made and enhancing confidence and constructive dialogue between all Yemeni parties and forces.

In this context, the two sides affirmed their support for the efforts made towards ending the war and entering into a comprehensive political process that meets the aspirations of the brotherly Yemeni people in achieving security, stability and peace for the Republic of Yemen and in reconstruction, development and prosperity.

The Minister also expressed the Sultanate of Oman’s welcome to the positive discussions that took place recently in Riyadh, which came as a continuation of the efforts made to reach a comprehensive solution that meets the aspirations of all the brotherly Yemeni people.

The Chairman of the Presidential Leadership Council in Yemen expressed his appreciation for the support of the government of the Sultanate of Oman and its efforts in this regard.
