Muscat: Otek, the technology arm of Omantel, has signed a cooperation agreement with Remedy to launch an advanced corporate platform supporting strategic planning and performance management through artificial intelligence technologies.
The agreement forms part of efforts to adopt emerging technologies, strengthen Oman’s national innovation ecosystem, support local content and enable startups to transform innovative solutions into institutional applications serving businesses across the Sultanate.
Under the agreement, Otek will develop and implement the “Rise Talent” platform within its institutional system. The platform provides integrated capabilities for corporate performance and human resources management, covering strategic goal alignment, talent management and employee experience.
Its functions include competency framework management, recruitment, learning and development, performance management, career planning, AI-supported human resources analytics and digital self-services.
Eng. Maqbool bin Salem Al Wahaibi, Acting CEO of Otek, said the partnership reflects the company’s commitment to supporting innovation and enabling emerging technology companies to transform their ideas into practical institutional solutions.
He noted that developing a competitive digital economy requires an integrated environment that brings together local innovation, technical expertise and the actual needs of institutions.
Al Wahaibi added that Otek continues to connect innovators and startups with institutional opportunities and provide capabilities that enable them to develop scalable solutions for the Omani market and beyond.
For his part, Turki bin Abdul Hafeez Al Balushi, Co-founder of Remedy, said the partnership would enable the company’s solutions to move from the development stage into practical institutional applications while benefiting from Otek’s technical expertise and understanding of institutional requirements.
He added that Remedy focuses on developing AI-powered tools that help organizations connect strategic objectives with implementation, enhance performance management and provide real-time insights to support more effective decision-making by leaders and employees.
The collaboration is expected to contribute to the development of Oman’s digital economy by supporting the adoption of AI-powered institutional solutions and creating opportunities for local technology companies to scale their innovations.
