Real Madrid Lose to Mallorca as LaLiga Title Hopes Fade

Madrid: Real Madrid’s hopes of retaining the Spanish LaLiga title suffered a setback following a 2-1 defeat to Mallorca.

The result leaves Real Madrid in second place, seven points behind leaders Barcelona, who secured a win over Atlético Madrid.

Mallorca took the lead in the 42nd minute through Manu Morlanes, before Real Madrid equalised late in the match as Éder Militão scored in the 88th minute on his return from injury.

However, Mallorca secured victory in stoppage time when Vedat Muriqi scored the decisive goal to earn his side three points.

The win lifts Mallorca to 17th place, two points above the relegation zone, while Real Madrid recorded their fifth league defeat of the season.

The result adds pressure on Real Madrid as they continue their pursuit of the league title with limited matches remaining.
