    Russian Company Bureau 1440 Expands Rassvet Satellite Constellation

    Moscow: Russian space company Bureau 1440 has successfully launched the second batch of its upgraded Rassvet satellites as part of efforts to expand its low-Earth orbit communications network and provide internet services.

    The company said the second-generation Rassvet satellites were successfully placed into orbit and will strengthen its growing satellite constellation designed to deliver communications and internet connectivity.

    According to the company, the container carrying the satellites separated from the launch vehicle after reaching its designated reference orbit before deploying the satellites into space. The Bureau 1440 ground control centre has assumed operational control of the satellites, which are expected to begin service after completing testing and commissioning procedures.

    The latest launch follows the deployment of the first 16 Rassvet satellites in March 2026, which are equipped with a 5G-based communications system to provide satellite internet services to users on Earth.
