Muscat : Sohar International has received the “Award for Advancing Investment & Economic Growth” at the 14th edition of Oman Forum 2026, recognising the Bank’s role in supporting investment and sustainable economic growth in Oman.
The Forum was held in the presence of H.E. Khalid bin Salim Al Ghammari, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour for Labour. The recognition reflects Sohar International’s broader role as a financial partner to businesses, investors and institutions seeking to participate in Oman’s economic growth. By combining financial strength, market expertise and a suite of banking and investment capabilities, the Bank facilitates capital deployment, business expansion and strategic projects across sectors that contribute to the Sultanate’s long-term economic priorities in line with Oman Vision 2040.
Commenting on the recognition, Abdulwahid Mohamed Al Murshidi, Chief Executive Officer of Sohar International, said: “Oman is entering an important phase of economic transformation, with significant opportunities emerging across sectors and an increasingly prominent role for private capital and enterprise. Our responsibility as a financial institution is to help translate that opportunity into sustainable economic value. This requires us to go beyond financing — bringing together capital, expertise, relationships and solutions that enable businesses and investors to move from ambition to execution. This recognition reinforces our commitment to supporting productive investment, strengthening the private sector and contributing to the long-term ambitions of Oman Vision 2040.”
Through its wholesale banking capabilities, Sohar International works across the investment lifecycle, supporting established enterprises, emerging businesses, investors and institutions with solutions that enable expansion, strategic projects and new investment. This approach positions the Bank as a partner that understands business ambitions and connects them with the financial capabilities required to realise them.
Sohar International also contributed to the Forum’s discussion on strengthening the private sector and building businesses capable of sustainable growth. Nasr Riadh Al Asfoor, Head of Multinationals and SME, represented the Bank during the panel discussion “How to Build Scalable Companies,” sharing perspectives on what businesses need to scale effectively, strengthen their competitiveness and capture emerging growth opportunities.
The Bank’s approach reflects the relationship between a strong financial sector and Oman’s wider economic ambitions. By facilitating investment, enabling businesses to grow and connecting opportunities with capital and expertise, Sohar International supports the development of a more diversified, competitive and investment-led economy.
The award reinforces Sohar International’s commitment to playing an active role in Oman’s economic transformation.
