Sohar International Sponsors OFA Cup and Oman Super Cup for the 2026-2027 Season

MUSCAT : Sohar International is strengthening its commitment to Omani sport and national talent through a new strategic partnership with the Oman Football Association (OFA), becoming the official and exclusive sponsor of the OFA Cup for the 2026–2027 season, to be held under the title “Sohar International Cup,” as well as the Oman Super Cup for the same season. The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at Sohar International’s headquarters in Muscat by Khalil Salim Al Hedaifi, Acting Chief Wholesale Banking Officer at Sohar International, and Eng. Qutaiba Saeed Al Ghailani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Oman Football Association.

Commenting on the partnership, Khalil Salim Al Hedaifi, Acting Chief Wholesale Banking Officer at Sohar International, said: “At Sohar International, we believe that our role extends beyond banking to supporting the aspirations and ambitions of the communities we serve. Football brings people together, inspires generations and provides a powerful platform for Omani talent to shine. Our partnership with the Oman Football Association reflects our commitment to contributing to the continued development of Omani sport and creating meaningful experiences for football fans across the Sultanate.”

Through the sponsorship of the Sohar International Cup, Sohar International will lend its name to one of Oman’s key domestic football competitions, reinforcing the Bank’s commitment to supporting platforms that bring communities together and celebrate local talent. The Bank’s sponsorship of the Oman Super Cup further strengthens this commitment, supporting a competition that brings together the champions of Omani football in a highly anticipated fixture.

Eng. Qutaiba Saeed Al Ghailani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OFA, said: “Partnering with Sohar International reflects the importance of strong collaboration between national institutions and the private sector in advancing Omani football. The Bank’s support of the OFA Cup and Oman Super Cup will contribute to strengthening our national competitions, enhancing the experience for fans and participants, and creating greater platforms for Omani talent to thrive. We value this partnership and look forward to building on our shared commitment to the continued development and growth of football in the Sultanate.”

For the Oman Football Association, the partnership represents an important step in strengthening the profile of national competitions and enhancing the overall football experience for players, supporters and the wider community. The partnership builds on the shared vision of Sohar International and the Oman Football Association to create greater momentum around Omani football, support the development of the game and provide platforms through which national talent can thrive.

Sohar International continues to support initiatives that contribute to the development of the Sultanate’s sporting, social and economic landscape.
