    • Oman’s “Splendour of Silver” Exhibition Opens at Grodno State Museum in Belarus

    The National Museum today opened the exhibition “The Splendour of Silver: Treasures from the Omani Court” at the Grodno State Museum of the History of Religion in the Republic of Belarus.

    This marks the exhibition’s third stop in the Republic of Belarus. It was launched at the National Art Museum of the Republic of Belarus in the capital, Minsk, in December 2025, before moving to its second venue, the Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore, in July 2026 as part of the International Arts Festival “Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk”.

    The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of Her Highness Sayyida Dr Mona bint Fahd al-Said, Assistant President of Sultan Qaboos University for International Cooperation and Vice-Chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the National Museum.

    The ceremony was attended by Mr Yuri Khadzhimuratovich Karayaev, Chairman of the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, along with a number of officials and individuals with an interest in cultural and museum affairs in the Republic of Belarus.

    The exhibition celebrates Omani silverwork as a historically prominent craft, showcasing a carefully selected collection of objects associated with the Sultans of Oman in Muscat and Zanzibar. The exhibition will run until 20 November 2026.
