U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrives in Sultanate of Oman

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in the Sultanate on Thursday.

Muscat: US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived in Oman on Thursday as part of a tour to the Middle East after an agreement brokered by the United States to normalize relations between Israel and the UAE, announced on August 13.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is expected to meet His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik – may God protect him, and before his arrival in Oman, Mike Pompeo visited Jerusalem, Sudan, Bahrain and the UAE.

Al-Jazeera TV quoted Mike Pompeo after his arrival in Muscat as saying: I look forward to discussing efforts to build unity among the Gulf states and promote regional peace and prosperity during my meeting with the Sultan of Oman.
