Three Round of 32 Matches Set for 2026 FIFA World Cup on Thursday

Washington:  The Round of 32 at the 2026 FIFA World Cup continues tomorrow (Thursday) with three matches, as Belgium take on Senegal, the United States face Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Spain meet Austria.

In Seattle, Belgium will face Senegal in a closely contested encounter. Belgium are ranked 10th in the latest FIFA rankings, while Senegal occupy 18th place. The Belgian squad is valued at approximately €547.5 million, compared to €478.1 million for Senegal.

Belgium advanced to the knockout stage after topping their group on goal difference following a 1-1 draw with Egypt, a 0-0 draw with Iran, and a 5-1 victory over New Zealand. Senegal qualified as one of the best third-placed teams despite defeats to France and Norway, before securing a 5-0 win over Iraq in their final group match.

At Bay Area Stadium in Santa Clara, the United States will meet Bosnia and Herzegovina. The hosts are ranked 15th in the world, compared to 61st for Bosnia and Herzegovina. The US squad has an estimated market value of €385.65 million, while Bosnia’s squad is valued at €146.4 million.

The United States qualified after finishing top of their group with six points, recording victories over Paraguay (4-1) and Australia (2-0) before losing 3-2 to Turkey. Bosnia and Herzegovina progressed as one of the best third-placed teams with four points, following a 1-1 draw with Canada, a 4-1 defeat to Switzerland, and a 3-1 win over Qatar.

The third fixture will see Spain take on Austria at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

Spain, ranked third in the world, enter the match with a squad valued at approximately €1.22 billion, compared to €245.2 million for Austria.

Spain topped their group with seven points without conceding a goal after drawing 0-0 with Cape Verde, defeating Saudi Arabia 4-0, and overcoming Uruguay 1-0. Austria secured second place in their group with four points, following a 3-1 win over Jordan, a 2-0 defeat to Argentina, and a 3-3 draw with Algeria.
