Singapore: Oil prices rose today amid concerns over the resumption of Middle East supplies, as uncertainty persists the durability of the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran and continued restrictions on the Strait of Hormuz.
Brent crude futures increased by $2.60, or 2.74 percent, to reach $97.35 per barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude rose by $3.02, or 3.2 percent, to $97.43 per barrel.
Both benchmarks had fallen below $100 per barrel in the previous session, with WTI recording its largest drop since April 2020, amid expectations that the ceasefire would lead to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.
