Barka: The Royal Oman Police (ROP) Command in South Al Batinah Governorate inaugurated a traffic exhibition in the Wilayat of Barka as part of the 38th Unified GCC Traffic Week 2026, held under the slogan “Cross Safely.”

The exhibition forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance traffic awareness and promote a culture of road safety, with the aim of reducing accidents and protecting lives and property through targeted awareness and educational programmes.

The event saw the participation of 22 government and private entities, showcasing initiatives and services related to traffic safety. It also featured awareness presentations and practical guidance emphasising adherence to traffic rules and encouraging responsible behaviour among road users.

The chief guest toured the exhibition and reviewed key contributions by participating entities, including programmes designed to strengthen traffic safety awareness.

Activities of the Unified GCC Traffic Week, organised by the Royal Oman Police, will continue until 7 May, with the participation of various government institutions and private sector entities to support the dissemination of traffic awareness across the community.

The event was held under the auspices of Sayyid Tarik Mahmoud Al Busaidi, Wali of Barka.
