Sayyid Hamoud Discusses Regional Security Cooperation with Arab Counterparts

Muscat: Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, Minister of Interior held meetings with some of his Arab counterparts, on the sidelines of the 42nd session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council in Tunisia.

During his meeting with Lieutenant General Abdul Amir Kamel Al-Shammari, Minister of Interior of the Republic of Iraq, Sayyid Hamoud discussed a set of security topics and means of enhancing security cooperation to address security challenges and rapid changes on the regional and international arenas.

Sayyid Hamoud also held a meeting withZiad Hab Al-Reeh, Minister of Interior in the State Palestine. They discussed the developments in the security arena, and ways to promote relations between the two countries in the security field.

During his meeting with Ahmad Hajjar, Lebanese Minister of Interior and Municipalities, Sayyid Hamoud reviewed some topics related to the joint security cooperation among Arab countries. The two sides also discussed topics listed on the agenda of the 42nd session of the Arab Interior Ministers Council.

Meanwhile, Sayyid Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi and Abdullahi Sheikh Ismail, Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Republic of Somalia exchanged views on some topics of common interest, particularly in the security fields.

During the meetings, the Minister of Interior expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by Arab countries to maintain security and stability, stressing the need to enhance joint Arab action to tackle the security challenges in the region.
