Madrid: Atlético Madrid qualified for the UEFA Champions League semi-finals despite a 2-1 loss to Barcelona in the second leg of their all-Spanish quarter-final clash.
Atlético secured a 3-2 aggregate victory, having won the first leg 2-0, to advance to the last four.
Barcelona opened the scoring early through Lamine Yamal in the 4th minute, followed by a second goal from Ferran Torres in the 24th minute. Atlético responded with a goal from Ademola Lookman in the 31st minute, which proved decisive in securing qualification.
Atlético Madrid will face the winner of the tie between Arsenal and Sporting Lisbon. Arsenal hold a 1-0 advantage from the first leg, with the return match scheduled in London.
In another quarter-final, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) defeated Liverpool 2-0 at Anfield to complete a 4-0 aggregate victory and advance to the semi-finals.
Ousmane Dembélé scored both goals for PSG in the 72nd minute and stoppage time. The French side had also won the first leg 2-0 in Paris.
PSG will meet the winner of the tie between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich. Bayern lead 2-1 from the first leg, with the return fixture set to take place in Munich.
