Food Safety Week 2024 Kicks off in Oman

Muscat: Activities of the Food Safety Week 2024 began today under the theme “Food Risk Assessment: Partnership, Awareness and Commitment”.

The event focuses on relevant risks and means of raising awareness and knowledge among all segments of the society regarding food safety, food quality and protecting public health.

The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dr. Hilal Ali Al Sabti, Minister of Health.

Further, the Food Safety Week 2024 aims to augment the capabilities of human resources and to develop available resources to keep pace with developments in the field of food industry.

The first day activities of the event included discussion panels on various topics related to food regulation, fish farming and various risks in the food sector.

Several seminars are held on the sidelines of the event to explore ways of overcoming challenges in the food sector and to provide innovative solutions that contribute to economic development.

It is worth noting that Food Safety Week 2024 is held in various governorates in partnership with several establishments in the field of food safety and consumer health.
