Gold Prices Dip While Oil Holds Above $100 per Barrel

Singapore: Gold prices edged lower today amid inflation concerns and uncertainty surrounding US monetary policy.

Spot gold fell by 0.3 percent to $4,599.45 per ounce, while US gold futures for June delivery declined by 0.7 percent to $4,611.40 per ounce.

Markets are also monitoring developments related to possible peace talks between the United States and Iran.

Oil prices retreated but remained above $100 per barrel amid continued uncertainty.

The US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged last week and signaled a tighter policy stance, reducing expectations of a rate cut this year.

Among other precious metals, silver rose by 0.1 percent to $75.38 per ounce, platinum increased by 0.2 percent to $1,991.85 per ounce, while palladium declined by 0.3 percent to $1,519.66 per ounce.
