Tokyo: Gold prices declined today to their lowest level in three weeks amid rising oil prices and cautious market sentiment ahead of key central bank policy decisions.
Spot gold fell by 1.4 percent to $4,614.71 per ounce, its lowest level since 7 April 2026. US gold futures for June delivery also dropped by 1.4 percent to $4,629.20.
Other precious metals recorded losses, with silver falling by 3.0 percent to $73.20 per ounce, platinum declining by 1.7 percent to $1,949.84, and palladium decreasing by 2.2 percent to $1,444.72.
Markets were also influenced by stalled US-Iran negotiations and concerns over inflation and interest rates.
