Oman Underscores Importance of Just Solution for Palestinian People

Cairo: The Sultanate of Oman underscored the importance of establishing a just solution for the Palestinian people, recognizing the independent State of Palestine, with East Jerusalem as its capital, the 1967 borders, and its accession to full-fledged membership in the United Nations (UN).

This was stated during Oman’s participation in the 158th session of the Council of the Arab League in the Arab Republic of Egypt today.

In his speech, Sayyid Badr Hamad Al Busaidi, Foreign Minister and head of Oman’s delegation participating in the meeting, underlined Oman’s aspiration for the return of Arab solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic’s restoring its membership in the Arab League, based on the belief in the authentic Arab fundamentals sought to be consolidated by all countries in a bid to achieve ambitions and prospective goals.

The Council’s members also stressed the significance of Arab solidarity, joint cooperation and action to realize aspirations of the Arab peoples.

The delegation accompanying the Foreign Minister comprised Abdullah Nasser Al Rahbi, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab Republic of Egypt and its Permanent Representative to the Arab League, Sheikh Faisal Omar Al Marhoon, Head of the Department of the Arab League, and officials at the Foreign Ministry.
