Seoul:  South Korea recorded its highest-ever monthly current account surplus in February, supported by a recovery in the semiconductor sector and strong export performance, according to data released by the Bank of Korea.

The current account surplus rose to $23.19 billion in February, compared to $13.26 billion in January.

This marks the largest monthly surplus on record, surpassing the previous high of $18.7 billion registered in December.

In 2025, South Korea recorded its highest annual current account surplus at $123.05 billion, exceeding the previous record of $105.1 billion set in 2015.
