UAE confirms first case of Omicron Covid-19 variant

Abu Dhabi : UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) on Wednesday announces the detection of the first case of the Covid-19 Omicron variant in an African Woman coming from an African country via an Arab nation.

The ministry said that the woman has been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 in accordance with UAE health protocols and that all measure were in place to protect public health.

The ministry also said women has been isolated along with those who had contact with her were traced and isolated, adding that she had not shown any symptoms of the disease and all necessary health measure have been taken.

UAE suspends entry for travelers from 7 countries on Nov 29.
