Dollar Holds Near Two-Month High
Singapore: The US dollar remained close to a two-month high today, supported by strong gains recorded during recent trading sessions in global currency markets.
The dollar index, which measures the performance of the US currency against a basket of major currencies, including the euro and the Japanese yen, edged up slightly to 99.47 after reaching its strongest level since 7 April during the previous session.
The Japanese yen traded at 159.91 per dollar, slightly weaker after touching the 160 yen level on Wednesday for the first time since 30 April.
Meanwhile, the euro stood at $1.1604, while the British pound traded at $1.3424, with both currencies showing little change during Asian trading.
