Khartoum: At least 11 people were killed and dozens injured in a drone attack targeting a market in North Kordofan State in central Sudan, according to media reports.
No party involved in the ongoing conflict in Sudan has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Drone strikes have intensified across the country in recent months amid continuing hostilities. According to United Nations estimates, at least 880 civilians were killed in drone attacks in Sudan between the beginning of 2026 and the end of April.
The conflict in Sudan has resulted in tens of thousands of deaths and the displacement of millions of people both within the country and abroad. It has also contributed to worsening humanitarian conditions and famine risks in parts of Darfur and Kordofan.
