    • 2023 AFC Asian Cup host country to be announced today

    Kuala Lumpur: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) will announce the host country for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup today,  the Executive committee of AFC will witness the vote on choosing the host country for the 18th edition of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

    Three countries are competing to host: Qatar, South Korea and Indonesia, after Australia withdrew from the race in early September.

    The host country will be announced after an extensive evaluation of the candidacy files was conducted by the AFC office, and the finals are scheduled to take place in July of next year 2023.

    It is worth noting that Oman’s national football team qualified for the Asian finals for the fifth time, after it came second in the fifth group of the joint Asian qualifiers, which was led by Qatar.
