Dhofar Environmental Protection Team Removes 4,396 Vehicles from Green Areas

Salalah:  The Environment Protectors team, in cooperation with Dhofar Municipality and the Royal Oman Police (ROP), continues its efforts to protect natural sites and preserve the environment during the Khareef season in Dhofar Governorate.

According to the Environment Authority, the environmental protection initiative has recorded 273 reports since the start of its monitoring efforts, alongside 165 reports concerning abandoned containers.

The campaign has also contributed to the closure of 280 locations in areas requiring environmental protection and recorded 101 stranded vehicles requiring assistance.

As part of efforts to protect vegetation and natural areas from damage, authorities have removed 4,396 vehicles from green areas.

The initiative also included seven media appearances aimed at raising environmental awareness and encouraging visitors and residents to protect Dhofar’s natural landscapes during the Khareef season.

The Environment Authority urged the public to cooperate with the relevant authorities, follow environmental regulations and help preserve the governorate’s natural sites for current and future generations.
