718 Shooters Take Part in Traditional Shooting Competition in Al-Amirat

Traditional Shooting Contest Kicks Off in Al-Amirat with Wide Participation

Al-Amirat: The traditional shooting competition commenced at the Traditional Shooting Range in the Wilayat of Al-Amirat, with the participation of 718 shooters from various governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.

The competition is organized by the Al-Amirat State Committee for Traditional Shooting, under the supervision of the Omani Committee for Traditional Weapons Shooting, as part of the activities of the Muscat Nights Festival 2026.

Participants were divided into 22 groups, with 33 shooters in each group. On the first day of the competition, 330 shooters representing 10 groups completed the preliminary rounds.

Today’s contests witnessed the participation of 388 shooters across 12 groups, from whom 40 shooters qualified for the final round, scheduled to take place tomorrow.

At the conclusion of the competition, 20 winning shooters will be honoured, in addition to five veteran shooters, in recognition of their participation and contribution to preserving this traditional sport.
