    Oman’s Al-Balushi Shines with Gold at High-Ranking Taekwondo Tournament

    Sarajevo: Al-Muhannad bin Tawfiq Al-Balushi, a member of Oman’s national taekwondo team, clinched the gold medal in the youth –48 kg category at the International Taekwondo Grand Prix Championship held in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    The high-ranking tournament featured participation from some of the world’s strongest taekwondo athletes, making Al-Muhannad’s achievement a notable milestone in his technical, physical, and mental preparation programme ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

    Al-Muhannad delivered an exceptional performance throughout the competition, displaying tactical discipline and strong competitive spirit against top-ranked opponents. In the final bout, he successfully imposed his strategy and secured a well-deserved victory to claim the gold medal.

    Adel bin Khalifa Al Wahibi, coach of the national taekwondo team, said: “Al-Muhannad Al-Balushi is undergoing a remarkable technical development. His achievement in this championship is not merely a result, but a clear indicator of the beginning of a new phase on his path toward major accomplishments. He possesses exceptional technical abilities.”
