Arab League Hosts Forum on Innovation, Investment, and Artificial Intelligence
Cairo: The fourth edition of the Arab Innovation and Investment Forum kicked off today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo. The two-day forum is being held under the slogan “Towards an Innovative Arab System for Investing in Promising Opportunities.”
During the opening session, His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Ali bin Ibrahim Al-Maliki, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, affirmed the Arab countries’ growing interest in innovation and entrepreneurship as a fundamental pillar for economic and social growth and development.
He noted that the forum is being held within the framework of Arab countries’ commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, stimulating responsible investment, and opening new horizons for economic growth from a more comprehensive and sustainable perspective.
Dr. Al-Maliki praised the vital role of innovation and entrepreneurship in supporting collective efforts toward sustainable development across Arab countries, improving economic performance, and achieving comprehensive development, particularly in light of current regional and international challenges and transformations.
He explained that the forum represents a strategic platform for activating the role of innovation in development and highlighting the capabilities of Arab youth as a key driver of economic growth. This is achieved by building effective links between idea owners, emerging projects, supporting institutions, investors, and decision-makers across various sectors.
The forum provides an opportunity for innovators and entrepreneurs to present their ideas and startup projects to major investors and companies, enhancing prospects for funding, commercial expansion, and economic integration, while opening new horizons for growth in Arab and African markets.
The forum focuses on artificial intelligence and the digital economy, addressing key themes such as data governance, cybersecurity, and digital transformation, in addition to discussing AI applications across industry, agriculture, and service sectors.
