    Haboub Muscat Tops 100km Sohar Endurance Festival Race

    Sohar:  The horse Haboub Muscat clinched first place and won the gold medal in the Sohar Endurance Festival local race over a distance of 100 kilometres for the 2025/2026 season.

    Haboub Muscat is owned by Hala bint Mohammed Al Turki, ridden by Mahmoud bin Saeed Al Saidi, and trained by Hamad bin Saeed Al Saidi.

    Second place and the silver medal went to the mare Mahasin, ridden by Yazan bin Khalid Al Harthi, owned by Hamad bin Mohammed Al Balushi, and trained by Mohammed bin Ali Al Balushi. The bronze medal was claimed by Ata Allah Jamal, ridden by Mohammed bin Suleiman Al Balushi, and trained and owned by Ali bin Marhoon Al Hasani.

    The competition was organized by the Oman Equestrian and Racing Federation, with the support of the Office of the Governor of North Al Batinah, for the second consecutive year. The local endurance race covered a distance of 100 kilometres and featured the participation of 49 horses, competing across four stages, in addition to a qualifying stage.

    The first and second stages measured 27 kilometres each and were marked with the white colour, while the third and fourth stages covered 23 kilometres each and were marked with the yellow colour. The race witnessed strong competition and enthusiasm among the participants.

    At the conclusion of the event, Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Shehab Al Balushi, Deputy Governor of Sohar, crowned the winners and honoured the supporting institutions and individuals who contributed to the success of the race.
