A’Seeb Eye Second Title of the Season

Muscat: The Oman Volleyball Association will conclude its 2025/2026 sports season next Monday with the final of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Volleyball Shield.

The title match will see A’Seeb Club take on Al-Bashayer Club at 9:00 PM on 23 February 2026 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher.

A’Seeb secured their place in the final after edging past Majis Club three sets to two in the semi-finals. The team is aiming to add another trophy to its tally, having already been crowned champions of the First Division Volleyball League Shield this season.

Al-Bashayer, meanwhile, booked their spot in the final with a straight-sets (3-0) victory over Sohar Club in the semi-finals. The side is determined to clinch the Shield title, especially after finishing runners-up to A’Seeb in the league competition.

Majis and Sohar will face off in the third-place play-off match next Sunday at the Sohar Sports Complex hall.

The competition kicked off on 14 November with the participation of 19 clubs: Salalah, Al-Nasr, Taqah, Mirbat, Dhofar, Al-Ittihad, A’Seeb, Al-Bashayer, Sohar, Majis, Saham, Masirah, Al-Shabab, Sur, Bahla, Samail, Dank, Al-Hamra and Al-Khaboura. The tournament followed a knockout format and featured 17 matches, in addition to the third-place play-off and the final.
