    • Oman Names Tarik Sektioui Head Coach on Four-Year Deal

    Muscat: The Oman Football Association (OFA) today held a press conference to introduce Moroccan coach Tarik Sektioui as the new head coach of the Oman national football team. Sektioui has been appointed on a four-year contract.

    Speaking at the conference, Sektioui said he will focus in the coming phase on establishing a clear identity for the team and building a competitive squad capable of achieving positive results. He noted that advancing Omani football requires joint efforts from all stakeholders.

    He added that his plan will emphasize improving players’ physical readiness and technical performance, while maintaining balance between defensive and attacking play. This approach, he said, will help shape a distinct tactical identity and enhance players’ positional awareness on the field.

    Sektioui also highlighted the importance of developing young players, pointing to the need for gradual renewal within the squad due to the higher average age of some current players. He stressed the importance of preparing emerging talent to transition effectively to the senior national team.

    He affirmed his commitment to the role, expressing his ambition to compete for titles, and underlined the importance of discipline and accountability within a clear strategic framework to raise the level of Omani football.
