    • US-Iran Talks in Islamabad End Without Agreement After 21 Hours

    Islamabad: A US delegation departed Pakistan today after concluding talks with Iran in Islamabad without reaching an agreement, US Vice President JD Vance announced.

    Vance, who headed the US delegation, said the negotiations lasted approximately 21 hours but ended without consensus, citing differences over key conditions related to Iran’s nuclear program.

    He explained that the United States had called for a clear commitment from Iran not to pursue or enable nuclear weapons capabilities, describing this requirement as central to Washington’s position.

    Vance added that the discussions were conducted in coordination with US President Donald Trump and senior officials, as part of efforts to address ongoing regional tensions.

    For its part, Iran’s state broadcaster (IRIB) reported that the talks failed due to what it described as “unreasonable demands” by the United States, noting that the Iranian delegation engaged in intensive negotiations to defend its national interests.

    The talks in Islamabad were aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, but concluded without reaching a deal.
