Oman Basketball Association Appoints Technical Staff for Training Centres

Muscat: The Oman Basketball Association announced the appointment of a specialized technical and physical training staff to supervise athletes’ preparation centres as part of efforts to develop basketball talent in the Sultanate of Oman.

Under the agreement, Tunisian coach Iskandar Mohammed Al Nabulsi was appointed General Technical Supervisor of the athletes’ preparation centres, while Mohamed Amin Al Zulfani was named Physical Preparation Supervisor for a two-year period.

The appointments aim to enhance technical and physical training programmes across accredited centres located in Al Seeb, Al Amerat, Nizwa, Al Bashair, Salalah and Sohar Complex, in addition to the girls’ centre at Bausher Complex.

The agreement was signed by Engineer Khalfan bin Saleh Al Naabi, Chairman of the Oman Basketball Association, in the presence of Jaber bin Mohammed Al Shabibi, Director of the Sports Preparation System Development Project at the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth, along with several federation officials.

Engineer Al Naabi stated that appointing specialized technical and physical experts marks an important step in developing athletes’ preparation centres and improving player performance through scientific training methods.

He added that integrating physical preparation into technical training contributes to identifying players’ developmental needs and improving the quality of training outcomes.

Al Naabi also highlighted progress achieved in girls’ basketball programmes, noting their contribution to positive results for women’s teams.

Jaber Al Shabibi said the appointments reflect joint efforts between the Ministry and the Federation to improve technical and administrative performance at training centres and support the future development of basketball in Oman.

For his part, Iskandar Al Nabulsi expressed appreciation for the Federation’s confidence and affirmed his commitment to working with national coaches and stakeholders to further develop training centres and prepare players for local and international competition.
