US-Iran Negotiations Stall Amid Ongoing Differences

Washington: – Statements by several US officials indicated that negotiations between the United States and Iran have stalled, with the two sides remaining far apart on a number of issues.

US President Donald Trump said that the ceasefire with Iran was “on the verge of collapse,” warning of the possibility of renewed hostilities and military intervention against Iran.

The developments came days after the United States presented a proposal aimed at resuming negotiations, while Iran submitted a response focusing on ending the conflict on multiple fronts, including Lebanon.

In its response, Iran called for an end to the naval blockade, guarantees against future attacks, the lifting of sanctions and an end to restrictions on Iranian oil exports.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei said that Iran’s demands include ending the war, lifting the blockade and releasing Iranian assets frozen in banks due to US pressure.

Meanwhile, the US President is expected to arrive in China tomorrow, where discussions are anticipated to include developments related to Iran, efforts to end the conflict in the Middle East and the global energy situation.
