Islamabad: The Pakistani military announced today that 22 militants were killed during a security operation in the northwest of the country.
According to a military statement, forces carried out an intelligence-based operation in North Waziristan district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and seized a quantity of weapons during the raid.
Pakistani security forces have conducted operations for years against militant groups active in the border and mountainous regions of the northwest, where attacks targeting security personnel and civilians occur periodically.
