SpaceX Launches 24 Starlink Satellites into Orbit
Washington: US aerospace company SpaceX launched 24 Starlink satellites into space today as part of its ongoing efforts to expand global satellite internet coverage.
The company said that its Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from the space launch complex at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, carrying the satellites into low Earth orbit.
Following stage separation, the rocket’s first stage successfully landed on an uncrewed drone ship positioned in the Pacific Ocean, while the upper stage continued its mission to deploy the satellites into their designated orbit.
The launch forms part of SpaceX’s continued expansion of the Starlink satellite internet network, which provides broadband communication services worldwide and currently consists of more than 10,000 satellites in orbit.
