Russian Attack Damages Infrastructure and Homes in Zaporizhzhia
Kyi: Five people were killed and 14 others injured in a Russian attack on the Zaporizhzhia region in southeastern Ukraine, according to local authorities.
Ivan Fedorov, Governor of the Zaporizhzhia region, said in a statement posted on the Telegram messaging platform that Russian forces carried out a series of airstrikes, drone attacks and artillery shelling targeting the area.
He added that the attacks caused damage to infrastructure, residential buildings and vehicles.
Ukraine and Russia have been engaged in ongoing military confrontations since February 2022, with continued exchanges of attacks across multiple fronts.
Efforts to reach a political settlement remain at a standstill despite international diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the conflict.
