DR Congo Ebola Cases Rise to 544, Africa CDC Reports

Kinshasa: The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) has risen to 544, according to data released today by the Africa Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

Africa CDC said that 515 cases have been recorded in Ituri Province, which remains the epicentre of the current outbreak.

The agency added that the number of confirmed deaths linked to the outbreak stands at 88.

The latest figures indicate an increase from government data released on Sunday, which reported 515 confirmed cases and 91 deaths.

Health authorities continue to monitor the outbreak and implement response measures aimed at containing the spread of the disease and supporting affected communities.
