UK Urges Companies to End Business Activities in Israeli Settlements

London: The British government has called on UK companies to cease all business activities in Israeli settlements in the occupied West Bank, Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper announced today.

Speaking before parliament, Cooper said that no British citizen or company should engage in economic or financial activities in settlements considered illegal under international law.

She stressed that violent settler groups should not be allowed to benefit from land seized from Palestinians, adding that statements condemning such acts of violence are insufficient without tangible measures to hold those responsible accountable.

The remarks come amid growing international scrutiny of developments in the occupied Palestinian territories and calls for stronger measures to address settler violence and settlement expansion.
