OCCI Launches Fifth Franchise Programme to Support Omani Brands

Oman Franchise Programme Opens New Growth Opportunities for SMEs

Muscat: The Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) will celebrate the launch of the fifth edition of its Franchise Programme tomorrow, Sunday, under the patronage of Dr. Khamis Saif Al Jabri, Minister of Economy.

The event will include the signing of several franchise agreements and memoranda of understanding aimed at providing facilities and support services for Omani brands.

The programme is part of the Chamber’s strategic efforts to improve the business environment, support economic diversification and contribute to the economic development of the governorates in line with the objectives of Oman Vision 2040.

Eng. Hamoud Salem Al Saadi said that the programme seeks to promote awareness of the franchise business model among entrepreneurs and business owners in the Sultanate of Oman, while supporting Omani brands with growth potential and enhancing investment opportunities and business partnerships.

He explained that the initiative aims to enable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to expand into regional and international markets through the franchise model, which has become an effective tool for supporting entrepreneurship and increasing the contribution of businesses to the national economy.

Al Saadi added that franchising also creates new investment opportunities and contributes to generating employment opportunities.

He noted that the previous four editions of the programme achieved positive outcomes by qualifying a number of Omani brands and helping them transition from traditional business operations to expansion through franchising.

This, he said, strengthened the presence of participating brands in the local market and enabled some of them to expand beyond Oman, reflecting the potential of Omani enterprises to grow into successful regional and international brands.
