Seven Killed, More Than 40 Hospitalized Following Ammonia Gas Leak in India

New Delhi: Seven people died and more than 40 others were hospitalized following an ammonia gas leak at a private seafood export facility in Tiruvallur district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu.

According to police authorities, the leak originated at a seafood processing plant before spreading to nearby residential areas.

Several residents suffered breathing difficulties, while others reported symptoms including bleeding from the nose and mouth.

Police stated that 44 people were admitted to a nearby hospital, confirming the deaths of seven individuals. Nine others were reported to be in critical condition.

Authorities have launched investigations into the incident and are monitoring the situation.
