Algeria Rally to Defeat Jordan 2-1 at FIFA World Cup 2026
San Francisco: Algeria came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory over Jordan in their Group Ten second-round match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, currently being hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Jordan opened the scoring in the 36th minute through Nizar Al Rashdan to take a 1-0 lead into the interval.
Algeria responded in the second half, with Nadhir Benbouali equalising in the 69th minute before Amine Gouiri netted the winning goal in the 82nd minute.
The victory earned Algeria their first three points of the tournament.
Following the result, Argentina lead Group Ten with six points, while Austria and Algeria each have three points. Jordan remain without a point after two matches.
