Bank Muscat Posts 9.3% Rise in First-Half 2026 Net Profit to RO137.5 Million

Muscat: Bank Muscat reported a net profit of RO137.49 million for the first half of 2026, marking a 9.3% increase compared to RO125.82 million recorded during the same period in 2025, according to the bank’s unaudited preliminary financial results.

Net interest income from conventional banking and Islamic financing rose 2% to RO210.49 million during the six months ended June 30, 2026, up from RO206.44 million in the corresponding period last year.

Other operating income increased by 12.7% to RO92.23 million, compared to RO81.83 million a year earlier, driven by business growth and higher investment income.

Operating expenses reached RO114.38 million, up 5.8% from RO108.08 million in the first half of 2025.

The bank set aside RO24.30 million in provisions for expected credit losses and other potential losses during the period, compared to RO30.16 million in provisions recorded in the corresponding period last year.

Bank Muscat’s net loans and advances, including Islamic financing, grew 6.2% to RO11.392 billion as of June 30, 2026, compared to RO10.724 billion a year earlier.

Customer deposits, including Islamic banking deposits, increased by 13.2% to RO11.182 billion, up from RO9.879 billion at the end of June 2025, reflecting continued growth in the bank’s funding base.
