    • At Least 25 Killed in Flash Floods and Landslides Across India

    New Delhi: At least 25 people have been killed in flash floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains across northern and northeastern India over the weekend, according to local authorities.

    Police said 15 people lost their lives in separate rain-related incidents in the districts of Poonch, Rajouri and Doda, while search operations continue for several people reported missing.

    In Nagaland, authorities confirmed that nine people were killed after persistent rainfall triggered multiple landslides in different areas of the state.

    Meanwhile, Assam reported one fatality, with the state’s disaster management authority stating that more than 57,000 people have been affected by flooding across seven districts.

    The India Meteorological Department has warned that heavy monsoon rainfall is expected to continue across northwestern, eastern and northeastern India over the next six to seven days, raising the risk of further flooding and landslides.

    Authorities are continuing rescue and relief operations in the affected areas while monitoring the evolving weather conditions.
